Granola Bars

Ingredients:

1 C. Brown Sugar

1 C. Peanut Butter

1 C. Honey

½ C. Butter

½ C. Applesauce

2 tsp Vanilla

6 C. QUICK Oats

1 C. Chocolate Chips

Instructions:

Preheat that oven to 350F.

Use a saucey pan on the stove to melt sugar, peanut butter, honey, butter, applesauce and vanilla. Just heat to mix, don’t boil.

While you’re waiting, though it really shouldn’t take long, fill a good sized bowl with oats and chocolate chips.

Just a note, since we’re on the subject, old fashioned oats are too dense for this recipe. If you use them, they won’t keep the granola bars together and everything will fall apart. That said, if all you have is old fashioned, give them a zip in a food processor or a blender and they will totally work like quick oats.

It’s like magic!

All right, pour the saucepan into the bowl and mix everything up then pat into a greased cookie sheet, all the way to the corners. Bake 20-25 minutes.

Make sure you cool all the way before cutting. Like, refrigerating is even better, that way they’ll hold up as bars instead of mush.

Taste great either way, but, you know, granola BARS are kind of a thing.
