“My wife is a teacher. She would come home and talk about this one precocious little girl. I took a particular interest in this girl and with that, a character was born, (in novel Justice in a Bottle) but the story evolved out of the friendship of Nita and her neighbor. I wrote it in first person, then scrapped the plot. I wrote it in third person and it worked. And as the story changed, the relationship between Nita and Mr. Melvin only strengthened.
When I’m completely engulfed in my story. When I can see it, smell it, and live it. That’s what I love about being an Author.”
